Project U.S.E.- Urban Suburban Environments

On Saturday 6/13, we hosted a READY course at Wildcat Mountain. Students took part in hands-on activities focused on wildlife, environmental education, survival skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork through effective communication. They stayed engaged, unplugged from technology, and experienced nature in a new way. We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide these meaningful learning experiences for both students and staff!

The Pillow XL donation was perfect for our hikers when they needed to shut their eyes for a few winks, they woke refreshed and ready for adventure! Last Friday, 6/12, we held a short one day course at our Wildcat Mountain Wilderness Center and it was amazing! We had 6 first time students and we went on a hike up the pipeline. What started as a group of terrified and uninterested teenagers, turned into a solid group of hikers, who unplugged, and really connected with their natural environment. It was awesome and both chaperones were ecstatic with the results of the day!

Recent Wildcat update! Newark students are SO excited to be outside. We hosted them last week as they challenged themselves in the heat, at extreme heights, on the water, and in the woods. They participated in our ropes course, canoeing, and tested their team building skills. We are so grateful to have them here learning about nature and perspective, orienteering, being unplugged, and adapting to a different environment!
