It's National Safety Month and we're proud to spotlight Samantha W., a Team Lead at La Petite Academy in Tampa, FL who recently demonstrated extraordinary courage and calm under pressure during a classroom medical emergency.

When a 4-year-old child began seizing, Samantha quickly assessed the situation, began CPR and directed team members to call 911 and notify the child's mother. She continued life-saving care until emergency responders arrived and helped ensure the child was safely transported to the hospital.

Her swift actions made a meaningful difference in the outcome of this event. It's a powerful example of how effective safety training, preparedness, and adherence to protocols directly protect children when it matters.

Samantha was presented with the Good Catch Award in recognition of her heroic efforts. Thank you, Samantha, for being an incredible example of leadership, safety and heart in action.

Shelvie's journey started in 1985 as a substitute teacher, and her career grew to include roles as a Preschool Teacher, Food Specialist, Assistant Director, Director, and District Manager before ultimately returning to the classroom, where her passion first began.

Her journey is not just a story of longevity, but of purpose, connection, and heart—and her legacy lives on in every child, family, and colleague she has inspired. Congratulations, Shelvie, and thank you for your incredible dedication to Learning Care. ❤️

Learning Care is proud to support families in New Jersey as their state's Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) reopens. To help bridge subsidy approval delays, eligible families can receive a 75% tuition reduction for up to 5 weeks, ensuring children stay learning and parents stay working.

Learning Care was proud to sponsor the 2026 Georgia Child Care Association (GCCA) Child Care Impact Luncheon this week.

This event brought together more than 250 legislators, policy makers and business leaders to discuss the impacts of child care on Georgia's economy, workforce participation and business stability.

We’re grateful to GCCA Board Member and Learning Care District Manager, Cheryl Odom Flores, along with Government Relations Manager, Jenna Borkoski, for representing Learning Care at this important discussion. Their insights will help inform our continued efforts to strengthen and transform child care across Georgia.

Our Leadership Academy is a week-long experience for our new Directors, to help strengthen their capabilities across three core areas: Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading the Business.

We are proud to recognize the 21 School Directors who recently completed the program and commend their commitment to growth and leadership excellence.

For 10 years, our Master Teacher Program has empowered educators to lead, grow, and raise the standard of excellence in early childhood education, and today, we celebrate the incredible difference it continues to make.

This program empowers educators to become curriculum experts and ECE leaders who make a meaningful difference throughout their schools. Our Master Teachers don’t just teach, they coach, mentor, guide, and inspire. By deepening their curriculum knowledge and instructional expertise, they strengthen classrooms, elevate teams, and serve as powerful role models for both children and colleagues.
