A scary PayPal scam is making the rounds through fake payment notices and phishing messages that look like they came from the real platform. 

The scammers use legitimate-looking PayPal branding, sender details, or payment notes to seem real. Once people interact with the message, scammers may steal login credentials, use trickery to get a person to send money, or pull a person into a fake support process that drains their accounts.

Don’t click links in suspicious messages, don’t call numbers listed in those messages, and always open PayPal directly by typing the address yourself or using the app. If a message feels urgent, treat it as a red flag and verify it through the account itself.
