The dedication of the new UNMC Indigenous Medicine Garden yesterday was a truly special experience. The garden was created through collaboration among University of Nebraska Medical Center - UNMC faculty and staff, Indigenous community leaders, educators, and students.

A major step forward for cancer treatment has arrived in Nebraska.

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center recently welcomed a state-of-the-art proton therapy system, the first of its kind in the state. This advanced technology will deliver highly targeted radiation therapy designed to treat tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

The milestone reflects years of planning and investment to expand care options for patients across the region.

A 33-ton delivery changing the future of cancer care The first proton beam therapy machine arrives in Nebraska, right here at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center-Nebraska Medical Center.

UNMC's nursing history is being preserved for the future.

Archives from the UNMC College of Nursing and the Alumni History Museum, dating back to 1917, have been transferred to the Leon S McGoogan Health Sciences Library. The move ensures these materials will be cared for, organized, and shared for years to come.

This effort reflects a commitment to honoring the College of Nursing’s legacy while preparing it for the next era.

UNMC's nursing history passes to new hands Through an extensive planning effort, the UNMC College of Nursing and Alumni History Museum and its archives have transferred to the McGoogan Health Sciences Library.
