𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐊𝐃𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲: One of the most meaningful parts of my experience in aKDPhi was performing in our yardshows alongside my sisters. My role as performance director allowed me to express my creativity, lead with compassion, and help my sisters feel confident and empowered through dance. Seeing my ideas come to life during our practices and performances was incredibly rewarding, but none of it would have been possible without the dedication, patience, and hard work of my amazing sisters. It was fun seeing them almost every single day during practice, and the late night fast food trips after practice were filled with laughter and warmth that brought us closer together. There is nothing like the rush of adrenaline that comes from performing together, and the sense of accomplishment afterward makes all the time and effort worthwhile. Though I love every moment with my sisters, those moments performing especially, surrounded by my sisters, are memories I will always cherish.

𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: I’m currently working toward PA school while gaining clinical hours. I’m focused on continuing to learn, gain experience, and prepare myself for the next step when I apply. I hope to throw my cats as many birthday parties as I can, retire my parents, and be swag 4evr. I will collect memories and experiences everywhere I go, and become the best version of myself possible.

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐊𝐃𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲: There have been so many amazing memories that I hold close to my heart and always look back at to this day. But if I were to pick one it would be Bulgolgi house with my line and mom. Everytime we would go I always enjoyed our convos and they are truly the funniest people ever. I am also so blessed to have my amazing lineage that have supported me and have pushed me to be the best not only in the sorority but as an individual.I’m so grateful to have gotten this opportunity to be in this hardworking sorority and am so grateful for all the people I have met!

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐊𝐃𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲: There are truly too many cherished memories for me to choose one singular event, but I will forever hold close any moments where my line and I were fully together (ot5 5eva), my small adventures with my angel little/amazing big/wonderful g, meeting and crossing my beautiful silly lambda kiddos, and all the conventions where I got to travel with sisters. To say this experience has been enriching feels like an understatement; it has given me so much that I can’t fully put into words. I am so proud and beyond grateful to have had aKDPhi be a part of my journey, and I will carry it - and the people in it - with me forever.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦: So much advice, yet so little. Here is a little word vomit of wisdom I’d like to share: (1) time will lead you back to yourself, so take life slowly and embrace its adventures and lessons, (2) kindness is never wasted, even when it’s not returned, (3) be grateful every day; even the smallest things may mean the world to someone else, and (4) pour passion into all that you pursue; the world is rich with treasure, so find your meaning.

𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: I would like to exist quietly and intentionally. Some goals I have are to make an impact on my patients’ lives as a CVICU nurse and eventually become an NP, explore the world and its wonders, and continue building my lore as the cool mysterious swag aunt.

APIDA and APIA Heritage Month, celebrated each May in the United States, recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi American communities. The term APIDA stands for Asian Pacific Islander Desi American, while APIA stands for Asian Pacific Islander American. This month highlights the diversity of people whose backgrounds trace to Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the Indian subcontinent. aKDPhi hopes everyone had a great APIDA/APIA Heritage Month celebrating and appreciating the many cultures within our communities.

Happy Mental Health Awareness Month! The month of May is dedicated to reigniting the spark within you to take care of yourself and do the activities that brings you joy and excitement. Sometimes we live such busy and fast-paced lives that we forget to take care of ourselves and prioritize our mental health. Let this be a gentle reminder that your mental health comes first!

To celebrate Re-Ignite, some of our sisters went on a road trip this month to Georgia and hiked at High Shoals falls and Jacks K**b trail. They were able to spend time enjoying nature, swim, and have quality bonding-time with one another! You don’t need a national forest to enjoy these things, just remember to take time for yourself!
