🍕✨ **Community Outing Success!** ✨🍕

Today, both of our clinic locations came together for a fun trip to a local pizza restaurant! Community outings provide amazing opportunities for our learners to practice important real-world skills in a natural environment while having fun with their peers.

During our lunch outing, our kiddos worked on:
🍽️ **Ordering their own food** and communicating their wants and needs
🤔 **Making choices** by selecting what they wanted to eat and drink
💵 **Money skills** by providing the correct amount of money for their purchase
⏳ **Waiting appropriately** while their food was being prepared
🪑 **Restaurant etiquette** by sitting appropriately at the table with peers
💬 **Social skills** through conversations, sharing space, and interacting with friends
👂 **Following community expectations** and responding to instructions in a busy environment

These experiences help build independence, confidence, communication, and social skills that can be carried over into everyday life. We are so proud of how hard our learners worked and how well they represented our clinics in the community today!

🍦✨ **Social Group Fun: Homemade Ice Cream!** ✨🍦

Our social group kiddos had a blast working together to make their very own ice cream! This hands-on activity was packed with opportunities to build important social, communication, and life skills while having fun.

Throughout the activity, our learners practiced:
🍨 **Cooperative play** by working together to add ingredients to the recipe
📖 **Following directions** and sequencing steps to successfully make the ice cream
⏳ **Taking turns** while each child had a chance to shake the ice cream bag
🗣️ **Describing and comparing** by talking about the differences between the ingredients before and after they became ice cream
🤝 **Sharing materials** and waiting patiently for their turn
👂 **Attending to group instructions** and participating in a group activity

Activities like these help our learners develop social skills, communication, teamwork, and independence in a fun and meaningful way. Plus, enjoying the finished product was a sweet reward for all of their hard work! 🍦💙
