Yesterday's storm left some fallen tree branches and debris blocking our main shipping entry here in Lubbock, TXβstopping our patient deliveries from getting through. The City of Lubbock and their crew responded quickly, clearing out the debris so we could receive and process today's patient samples.
A big thank you to the Lubbock, Texas - Your City Government for their fast response. It's a great reminder that what keeps us running is more than the science. It's also the community around us!

Thank you, ATC 2026.
To every clinician who stopped by Booth 810 to talk about going beyond culture.
What we shared, in lung transplant BAL and pleural fluid:
β’ 75% combined sensitivity in lung transplant BAL (NGS + culture)
β’ 3x higher sensitivity vs. standard culture (pleural effusions)
β’ 89 species identified that standard culture missed

In honor of Father's Day, our team wants to share one of the most moving patient stories we've received. It gives us pause, reminding us of the spirit of family and how it matters in health.
Todd had endured a year of ER visits, many doctor's appointments, and sepsis, before MicroGenDX could deliver answers that helped him recover.
But what he did next says everything about his character.
His 81-year-old father had battled a lung infection and ineffective treatment for months, leaving him unable to speak.
Todd got him a MicroGenDX test, which identified a fungal lung infection that other tests has missed. Within two days of the right treatment, his father's voice was recovering.
Take care of the dads in your life.
Sometimes that means getting them the right test.

If you're one of the 7.7 million people living with sickle cell disease, your immune system is less equipped to fight off UTIs, respiratory, and bone infections.
Functional asplenia, a common complication, leaves the body with a reduced ability to clear certain bacteria from the bloodstream β turning a manageable infection into a serious situation.
Fast, accurate pathogen identification matters to this community, enabling better treatment.
While culture tests may miss the pathogen entirely, NGS reads the DNA directly from your sample, identifying the exact cause of infection.
Knowing your options for testing leads to better advocacy, better care, and better outcomes.

Culture comes back negative, but the patient is clearly infected. What guides therapy?
At ATC 2026 we are putting that question to the test: bring our CEO a case culture can't solve.
In a lung transplant BAL cohort (Iacono et al., n = 122, Northwell Health), combined NGS plus culture detected pathogens in 75.0% of specimens versus 51.2% by culture alone (p < 0.0001). In ICU pleural fluid, targeted NGS recovered pathogens that standard culture missed, with specificity preserved.
What every MicroGenDX report delivers:
β Species-level identification (16S + ITS)
β Up to 17 AMR gene targets via qPCR
β Detection that persists under antibiotics
β Adjunctive to culture, never a replacement
qPCR + NGS at approximately $400 per test, with Medicare coverage.
Meet our CEO at Booth 810. Boston, June 20-24.
Conference presentation; manuscript in preparation. Numerical findings pending peer-reviewed publication.

We know a lot of you have questions about biofilms, and if they could be behind the stubborn infection you're facing.
In our latest blog, we break down what biofilms are, the role they play in chronic UTIs, sinusitis, wounds, and more. Plus, how MicroGenDX helps your doctor find and treat them.
If you suspect a biofilm is behind your infection, this one's worth the read.
