With Stott Pilates® Instructor Training beginning July 16th at the studio, we would like to highlight the three STOTT® teachers we have here. Maribeth, Melita, and Jamie are all trained through the program.
Maribeth has been a member of the studio and teaching the longest and has completed 14+years of instruction all at our location. 💙
Before she considered teaching, she was a member of the studio and enjoyed taking classes with her sister. In fact, her sister is who signed her up for her first class. Initially, Maribeth thought she was too old to consider teacher training, but at 54 years of age and with the encouragement of her husband and friendly instructors like Sherri Kahn, she decided to take their advice and start training. She thought maybe she would teach 2-3 years, but that definitely wasn’t the case.😃 Beginning with a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, teaching 2 classes each day, she started her new journey with leading women and men to new goals with health in mind.
While the pandemic impacted teaching opportunities and led to a reduced class load, her dedication to her students remained.
Maribeth is a 3 time Cancer survivor. After thyroid Cancer and 2 battles with breast Cancer, she realizes how important it is to continue stretching and moving your body as long as you can going through treatments and with recovery. She found that after surgeries, stretching and low-impact pilates was very helpful, with her doctors encouragement, to getting back mobility in the parts of the body that needed to recover. 🌸💕
When asked what her favorite part of teaching is, Maribeth said, “I just love the girls! Wonderful friendships are being made and I get to watch it all happen. I also see their bodies transforming.” 💪
Reflecting on her journey this far with pilates, she is surprised that she is 60+ years old and still loves to teach. She never thought she would be teaching all these years later. We can’t imagine our studio without Maribeth. She brings humor, strength, and deep friendships to every class she teaches.

Tennis shoes are recommended.👟We are excited to incorporate TRX and chair into our classes because you’ve been asking for it. Summer gets busy and we forget to carve out time for ourselves. Fit Form Pilates brings a lot to the table. Bree’s Fit + Reformer class incorporates weights and the reformer. You may not think you have trouble with your balance, but when you add the hand weights your stability changes and challenges you more than ever. A strong core in this exercise is what helps to keep your hips aligned as you press the carriage back with one foot. Your balance is challenged as you work your glutes and hamstrings to become stronger.
