Your child’s health and safety are always a priority, and we are pleased to share an important opportunity available to families in our community. On Wednesday, July 22nd, My HeartCheck will be at The J KC providing comprehensive youth heart screenings for young people ages 8 to 25. HeartChecks are available for $179, compared to $1,500 or more when similar testing is performed in a hospital setting. Appointments are required, and space is limited. As of today, members can once again enjoy all that Waterama has to offer, including our froggy slide, lily pad cross, two large slides, and zero-depth entry pool. Waterama now joins our Splashpad and 50-Meter Pool, which have already been welcoming families throughout the start of the summer.
We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting Waterama's opening, and we want to sincerely thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we worked through unexpected challenges earlier this season. We also know that Waterama is a popular summer tradition for many of our families, and we understand the disappointment that came with having to wait a little longer than expected. While the delay was not what any of us hoped for, we remained committed to ensuring the facility was ready to safely welcome our community back.
As we look ahead, we are thrilled to spend the rest of the summer with you and your family, enjoying everything our outdoor aquatic facilities have to offer.
We also want to share that, as part of the J's upcoming campus expansion project, we are committed to addressing the ongoing challenges facing Waterama and exploring long-term improvements that will enhance and strengthen this unique amenity for future generations of members. This work reflects our broader commitment to investing in the experiences our community already loves, while also preparing for the future. As part of that vision, we are excited to break ground this September on a new indoor recreational aquatic center, creating even more opportunities for members to gather, play, learn, and stay active year-round.

The J partners with Tiger-Rock Martial Arts of KC to offer Taekwondo Tuesday classes. We are excited to offer two different Summer Sessions, with the first one beginning TOMORROW. These 30-minute classes allow participants to learn self-control along with developing self-confidence and discipline in a non-aggressive manner.
