Through our Vamos Afuera initiative, The Karat School Project is helping take some of the pressure off families while giving children the opportunity to explore, learn, and experience different parts of the Bay Area throughout the summer.
Many of the children we work with are living in RVs or unstable housing situations, often without safe outdoor spaces to play, explore, or simply be children. Vamos Afuera was created to introduce youth to the beauty of nature through visits to local parks and nature reserves, where they can experience the freedom of being outside, build friendships, and learn about the natural world around them.
For some of our scholars, these outings are their very first opportunity to fully experience the diversity and beauty of the natural world beyond their immediate surroundings.
We are so excited to spend the summer alongside our wonderful scholars, creating meaningful memories, encouraging curiosity, and making sure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and simply enjoy being a kid. ☀️🌿

This National Women’s Health Week, we honor the importance of accessible care, dignity, and support for girls everywhere.
At KSP, our fight against period poverty goes beyond Côte d’Ivoire. Right here in the Bay Area, we continue supporting girls experiencing housing insecurity and financial hardship by providing essential menstrual products and care.
Because something as natural as a period should never become a barrier to education, confidence, or opportunity. 💛

Behind the innovation and wealth of Silicon Valley, many families are still living in vehicles, navigating uncertainty, displacement, and instability every single day.
At KSP USA, we believe community care means showing up consistently, especially when circumstances change. This year, we adapted our work to meet families where they were, helping provide stability, advocacy, housing support, healing outdoor experiences, and youth empowerment opportunities.
Because every child deserves more than survival. They deserve safety, joy, and the opportunity to thrive. 💛
Thank you to every supporter helping us remain a steady presence for Bay Area families.

Our Girls’ Education Incentive Farming Program is important because it tackles the root causes of poverty and school dropout at the same time.
It keeps girls in full-time education at the Karat School while their mothers receive training in literacy, financial skills, and climate-resilient farming, along with a stipend.
This dual approach strengthens families immediately and long-term supporting girls’ education, improving mothers’ income opportunities, and building more food-secure, resilient communities.

At Karat School Project, we’re committed to empowering the next generation through learning, opportunity, and hope.

Growing more than food. Growing stability 🌾
What we build doesn’t stop at the harvest.
It feeds students, supports families, and strengthens entire communities.
This is what sustainable impact looks like rooted, intentional, and built to last.

Health isn’t just about hospitals it’s about access, education, and daily support.
At KSP, we work to improve health every single day by providing nutritious meals, safe learning environments, menstrual health support, and essential screenings for women. Because when health is prioritized, students can learn, families can thrive, and communities can grow stronger.
This World Health Day, we’re reminded that real impact happens through consistent, community-centered care.
