Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It serves as an important reminder of our nation’s history and the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice for all.

📢 Your Voice Can Make a Difference!

A proposal has been submitted to construct a 165-foot cell tower on Erie Road, approximately 1,000 feet east of the intersection of 69th Street East and Erie Road. The proposed tower would be located near our schools, neighborhoods, and families.

The Manatee County Hearing Officer will hold a public hearing to consider this proposal:

We encourage our Parrish Charter Academy and Parrish Charter Academy Preschool families to learn about the proposal and participate in the process if they choose. Community members may attend the hearing in person, submit public comments online in advance, or contact the case planner for additional information.
