⚽🌎 FROM THE WORLD CUP TO THE CLASSROOM

Today, Houston takes center stage as the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in our city.

Before fans from around the world filled the stadium, Pasadena ISD Summer students had a unique opportunity to hear from someone who has actually lived the World Cup experience.

We were honored to welcome Boniek García, former Houston Dynamo legend and two-time FIFA World Cup player for Honduras, to speak with our Summer School students. Boniek shared his journey, the challenges he overcame, and the discipline, perseverance, and commitment required to compete on the world's biggest stage.

His visit could not have come at a better time.

As Houston welcomes the world today, our students were reminded that greatness doesn't begin under stadium lights. It begins with hard work, determination, and the courage to chase your dreams long before anyone is watching.

During the Senior Awards Ceremony presentation, we had the inaugural Bobby Newcomb Career & Technical Education Scholarships.

Just months after the dedication of the Bobby Newcomb Career & Technical Education Center, her legacy is already continuing to make an impact on the lives of Pasadena High School students.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Bill Newcomb and the entire Newcomb family for their generosity and commitment to our students. Mr. Newcomb personally presented the scholarships and shared excerpts from the students' essays, making the moment especially meaningful for all in attendance.

Mrs. Bobby Newcomb dedicated her career to helping students discover their talents, build professional skills, and pursue meaningful careers. She believed in the power of Career & Technical Education long before it became a national priority, and her impact can still be seen today throughout Pasadena High School.

These scholarships represent more than financial support. They represent opportunity, hard work, perseverance, and a belief in the potential of every student.

Thank you to the Newcomb family for ensuring that Mrs. Newcomb's passion for students continues to live on through future generations of Eagles.

New Assistant Orchestra Director ...Eagle Pride Never Dies!

Seven years ago, he walked these halls as a student.

Today, he's walking them as a teacher.

Please join us in welcoming Cesar Flores, Class of 2018, back to Pasadena High School as our new Assistant Orchestra Director.

Since graduating from PHS, Cesar has dedicated himself to music education, most recently serving students at Lomax. Now he returns home to invest in the next generation of Eagle musicians and lead a new Mariachi band.

His journey is exactly what makes Pasadena High special. Our graduates leave, make an impact, and come back to strengthen the community that helped shape them.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Flores back to Eagle Nation and look forward to the passion, talent, and leadership he will bring to our Fine Arts program.
