Congratulations to all of our NHCA graduates!
After a great School Picnic on Wednesday and a fabulous Graduation Ceremony today, we celebrate all of the accomplishments of our students and the success of completing another school year.
We are very proud of our graduates and pray God's blessings over each of them as they begin their next chapter. Thank you to all of our families, staff, and supporters who made this week so special!

Words of pride and gratitude for NHCA staff: This past Wednesday, I walked into New Hope Christian Academy still carrying the exhaustion of jet lag, preparing for a school trip with our students. Then, in a moment, everything changed.
My husband, Kurt — who lovingly drives one of our school vans and prepares lunch for our students each day — suffered a medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
I was scared.
The kind of scared that makes your heart drop into your stomach. The kind where your mind races in a hundred directions at once.
But in the midst of fear, panic, and chaos, the NHCA staff stepped in.
Quietly. Faithfully. Instinctively.
Teachers shifted roles without hesitation. The trip still went on. Lunch was served. Lessons continued. Children were cared for. Vans rolled out at dismissal. What could have become a disaster became calm because a group of people chose teamwork, grace, and love.
And honestly, that moment captured this entire school year.
This has been one of the hardest years in our 22-year history. Yet through every challenge, this staff has continued showing up for children and for one another — often unseen, often uncelebrated, and sometimes in the face of criticism that would make others walk away.
But you stayed.
You gave your time, your creativity, your patience, your prayers, your own resources, and pieces of your heart.
So on this last day of Teacher Appreciation Week, I simply want to say thank you.
You are not “just teachers.”You are lovers of children.Steady hands in hard moments.Light carriers.Difference makers.
And when I was scared this week, you carried more than responsibilities. You carried me, too.
I thank God for each and every one of you. ❤️
Ms. Kim

✨ Introducing Let’s Talk About It with Born Again Buddy🧸✨
A new animated devotional series featuring Born Again Buddy and Pastor Williams as Pop-Pop, created to help children understand and grow in God’s Word.
We are also excited to share that the voice of Born Again Buddy is NHCA student Kendrick Richardson💛
Every Wednesday at 7 PM, we take the main message from Sunday’s sermon at New Hope and break it down in a way children can truly understand, grow from, and apply to their everyday lives.
Think of it as The Overflow for kids—a weekly discipleship moment centered on biblical truth, real-life understanding, and faith-building conversations.
And the best part? You don’t have to attend New Hope to talk about it with Buddy.
Children, families, churches, schools, and youth groups everywhere can join in and grow together in God’s Word.
Each short video will also be accompanied by an activity sheet to help reinforce the lesson and continue the conversation at home, in the classroom, or in children’s ministry.
Starting tonight, join us every Wednesday as we learn, grow, and talk about what God is saying.

As we continue our Philly Phenomenal Women series in celebration of Women’s History Month, we honor a woman whose leadership and compassion have helped strengthen families and communities throughout the city.
Sharmain Matlock-Turner is a respected nonprofit executive and the longtime President and CEO of the Urban Affairs Coalition in Philadelphia. Through her work, she has championed economic opportunity, workforce development, and initiatives that support underserved communities. Her leadership has helped connect public, private, and community partners to create pathways for growth and stability.
📖 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Sharmain’s life reminds us that true leadership is rooted in service. She demonstrates that influence is not only about visibility but about impact. God often uses compassionate visionaries to build bridges where gaps once existed. When we commit ourselves to uplifting others, our work becomes a reflection of His love.
Philadelphia did not simply gain an executive leader. It was blessed with a woman committed to strengthening the foundation of its communities.
