Many thanks to Senator Joe Picozzi for his commitment to our Parish, School, & neighborhood. This boiler also generates heat for the Church since it is connected to the School building. These upgrades are so needed!

Very excited to announce that I have helped secure $100,000 in Department of Community and Economic Development funding for St. Anselm School for boiler upgrades!

This investment will help ensure that students can focus on learning and teachers can focus on teaching by providing a more reliable and comfortable environment throughout the school year.

Generations of families have turned to St. Anselm for its commitment to academic excellence, innovative learning opportunities, and the values-based education that continues to prepare students for success long after they leave the classroom.

I’m proud to help secure funding that will strengthen St. Anselm’s for years to come.

Congratulations, Eagles!

The recent passage of House Bill 2632 by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives poses a serious threat to school children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This legislation seeks to eliminate the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The result would be devastating for school children and their families.

If enacted into law, this bill would negatively impact tens of thousands of students across Pennsylvania who currently rely on these scholarship programs. EITC and OSTC scholarships are funded by companies and individuals who see value in providing families with educational choice. These programs are vibrant, successful, and reduce taxpayer burdens when it comes to educating our young people, particularly those who come from challenging financial circumstances and live in underserved communities.

Parents should have the ability to choose the educational environment that best suits the needs of their children. I am deeply grateful to those who support EITC and OSTC. These programs are vital and no one can afford to see them disappear. I urge our elected officials to work for their preservation without reduction in funding levels.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D.
Archbishop of Philadelphia

Happy Father's Day! We wish all of our Fathers continued blessings & strength to be a faithful example to their family.
Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience.
Support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender. AMEN

Lawmakers: Don't Cut Scholarships for PA Kids! 06/18/2026

Tuesday, June 15, the Pennsylvania House Education Committee advanced HB 2632, and the bill is moving quickly toward a vote in the House as early as next week.
If passed, this legislation would dramatically change the current Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program and could have devastating consequences for thousands of students across our Commonwealth:
❌ Scholarship organization funding cut by $102 million annually
❌ 30,000 students could lose their scholarships
❌ Supplemental scholarships for Economically Disadvantaged Schools eliminated entirely
❌ Student eligibility tied to future minimum wage legislation
❌ Scholarship organizations required to return 2% of tax credits raised to the state
❌ Increased reporting requirements for private schools
❌ Private donor information shared with the General Assembly
These changes would make scholarship programs more restrictive, reduce access to educational opportunities, and impact countless families who rely on these vital resources.
📣 NOW is the time to act.
It takes less than one minute to contact your state lawmakers and urge them to oppose HB 2632.
