8th Grade Graduates! 🎓🥳
Last Friday, we got to celebrate and send out our 8th grade graduates! We are so proud of the work they put in to complete their time at HPCA, and wait with eagerness to see what their time in high school brings. Between singing about the victory they have in Jesus, hearing Mrs. Figueiredo encourage them to always pursue God's will instead of their own, and affirming the gifts of the Spirit they see in each other, our 8th graders are going out with lots of encouragement. Please join us in adding to that encouragement!

Kindergarten Graduates! 🎓🥳
Last Thursday, we saw our kindergarten students graduate after a year filled with lots of learning. The students were given their diploma, as well as awarded an individual award personalized to them. They thanked their parents, sang, and danced their way into the next stage ahead of them. Join us in congratulating our kindergarten graduates!

Thank you, Ms. Wire! 💐👏🏽
After 21 years of teaching at HPCA, our beloved 1st-grade teacher, Barbara Wire, is retiring. We decided to, literally, give her her flowers in a surprise chapel, with each student that she had taught in the school giving her a tissue paper flower. Ms. Wire has dedicated–and we use that word "dedicated" very intentionally–the entirety of her life to instructing children. Instructing them in sight words and subtraction problems, certainly, but far more so in the way of Jesus. Walking into her classroom during the school day, it is more than likely you would catch her leading the class in an interactive project (that often made us wish, as adults, we could be in her class), opening up Scripture to tell of God’s unfolding story for her students, or passionately encouraging her students on their road to literacy. Stopping by after school, you would most likely still see her with students, spending extra time with anyone in need of added support, giving them homework help and a tasty snack. The whole of Barb’s life has been given, first and foremost, to Jesus, and, very quickly after, to her students. She is the type of person who will ask about an update to a prayer request you forgot you had ever mentioned, who will go to all lengths to make sure her students are well-educated and cared for, and who looks to her Lord to sustain her in all of it. While we will miss Ms. Wire’s thoughtfulness, humor, and passion filling our halls each day, we know that these things will all continue to reside deeply in the hearts and minds of the hundreds of students she has taught. Thank you, Barb, for being a loving co-worker, a dedicated teacher, and a kind friend. We, and our students, look more like the Savior because of you.

Mud Pies and Soap Suds! 🧽🫧
Since we raised our goal of $65,000 (and then some) for the Race for Education 2026, Mr. Deane had to face a gauntlet of mud pies thrown by our top fundraisers, and walk through a student-powered human car wash. He got soaked with water sprayers, sudsed up with sponges, wiped down with mops and pool noodles, and even blow-dried with a leaf blower! What a perfect finish to yet another wonderful Race! Thank you all for the many parts you played to make this year another incredible success.

Car Wash Complete! 🧽🫧
Since we raised our fundraising goal for the Race for Education, Mr. Deane had to face a gauntlet of mud pies and a student-fueled carwash today! The students were just a *bit* excited. We will have more pictures and video coming of the festivities, so keep an eye out!

Award Winners! 🏆
Along with the big announcement that we raised our fundraising goal, we also got to announce all the award winners from this year's Race for Education at our special assembly yesterday. We handed out trophies to the top male and female runners in each class (who also turned in labels), as well as a certificate for the top fundraisers, who will also get to enjoy a meal specially served by our head of school, Mr. Deane! Let's give them a round of applause for their achievement! 👏🏽

Favorites Friday! 🤩
The final day of our theme week was "Favorites Friday!" The students got to dress in their favorite outfits, and we hosted a talent show for everyone to display their favorite talents and abilities they have. We love seeing our students display their gifts. They are a talented bunch!
