In our Sewing 201: Tops & Dresses class, this student transformed the into a version that perfectly fits her style and needs—adding more coverage, extending the sleeves, and lengthening the skirt for a silhouette she feels great wearing.

That’s the beauty of learning to sew: you’re no longer limited to what stores decide to make. Want longer sleeves? Add them. Prefer more coverage? Adjust it. Need a better fit? Customize it. Sewing gives you the skills to create clothing that works for you.

We’re taking visible mending on the road!

Join us at Evil Genius Brewery in Fishtown on Thursday, June 25th from 6–8pm for an evening of stitching, sipping, and saving your favorite clothes from the donation pile.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the art of darning—a traditional mending technique that turns holes and worn spots into beautiful, visible repairs. We’ll provide all the materials you need, but you’re welcome to bring a beloved garment that could use a second life.

No sewing experience necessary. Just bring yourself, grab a beer, and settle in for a relaxing evening of slow stitching in Evil Genius’s semi-private event space.

Our Quilted Pillow Workshop is back on July 18, and it’s the perfect introduction to quilting. In just one day, you’ll learn quilting basics while making this adorable quilted pillow (lovingly designed by our Studio Manager, Emily).

If you’ve been curious about quilting but aren’t ready to commit to a 6-week class, this workshop is for you. You’ll leave with a finished project, new sewing skills, and maybe even a new quilting obsession.
