Making waves with Mozart in May 🌊🎻
Congrats to the Center for Gifted Young Musicians Poseidon Quartet (Jack Nazarian, Harrison Leibowitz, Sylvie Chiaccetti, Oliver Leibowitz), coached by Ralph Allen, on their performance at the Fort Washington Synagogue. In May, the ensemble played all movements of Mozart’s Divertimento in B-flat Major, K.137/125b as part of a bar mitzvah benefit concert. Bravi tutti! 🙌

Yesterday was National Children’s Day, the perfect moment to celebrate the young musicians who made this year so special at Temple Music Prep! 🎶✨

It was a year full of exciting concerts and collaborations across CGYM and CMSP.

Here are just a few highlights:
🎻 Chamber music took center stage in this year’s CGYM Masterclass Series. Thanks to the generous support of PCMS, students worked throughout the spring semester with artists from leading chamber ensembles, including the Miró Quartet, Isidore String Quartet, and Dover Quartet. At the end of the semester, the CGYM Youth Chamber Orchestra returned to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ardmore for another beautiful performance.

🎼 Our CMSP and PSP students had a fantastic time at String Fest, a collaboration with the School District of Philadelphia and WRTI that brought young musicians together to make music and build community. The CMSP Jazz Orchestra also participated in the Essentially Ellington Festival, where high school jazz bands from across the region came together to perform Ellington’s music and take part in workshops led by renowned jazz artists.
