✨ Black women in higher education: your community is waiting for you.
In a season when many of us are navigating shifting landscapes in academia, one thing remains true—we are stronger when we are connected, supported, and thriving together.
📚 Do you know a college student who needs some extra cash for books? Encourage them to apply for the ABWHE Textbook Scholarship by June 26.
🎓 Register now for our National Conference and take advantage of Early Bird Registration through July 15. This is more than a conference. It’s a network, a sisterhood, and a space where Black women in higher education can grow, lead, and flourish.
🌟 Curious about chapter leadership roles? Register for our virtual panel discussion on June 15 and learn how you can serve and help shape the future of ABWHE.
Tag a colleague, mentor, undergraduate, or graduate student who needs to be in this community.

Please join us in supporting and empowering sister scholars, staff, and students to secure our presence and prosperity for generations to come. Black women in the higher education community need a variety of resources and networks to foster their professional development and advocated for their presence and prosperity in the academy. To help meet that need, in 1978, thirteen visionary women meeting in Albany, New York founded the Association of Black Women in Higher Education, Inc.(ABWHE).

Earlier this month, the sisters of ABWHE GNJ stepped away from the busy rush of life for a “Purposeful Pause.” This sacred time was dedicated entirely to connection, rest, and collective renewal. Every moment offered a chance to reset through heartfelt conversations, the warmth of the sauna, quiet reading, and much needed sleep. Together, the sisters laughed, unwound, and simply allowed themselves to be. This relaxing experience truly soothed the soul.

To all the women who have had the honor of being called “Mother” whether it is biological, surrogacy, adoption, or a mother-like figure. We celebrate you this weekend.💐
