Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory is a private Christian school providing a community of spiritual nurturing and academic excellence.
Founded in 1974, Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory is a community of spiritual nurturing and academic excellence offering pre-kindergarten through high school. PVCP's distinctive approach firmly anchors elements of a classical education within the Christian intellectual tradition. This philosophy of education not only equips students with the knowledge they need to be successful in college and
beyond, but it provides them significant opportunities for spiritual growth, empowering them to think critically about all facets of life. Students are challenged to seek out and define truth, the source of which is God Himself. PVCP is a non-denominational Christian school, where families are united in the objective to see students advance academically and spiritually. Student outcomes are rooted in PVCP’s three spiritual pillars: understanding, articulating, applying, and defending the Christian worldview; learning to work, serve, and be a blessing to others as unto the Lord; and understanding one’s purpose in the world and God’s Kingdom. PVCP’s biblical commitment is evidenced in its membership in the Association of Christian Schools International, intensive Bible classes, weekly chapel services, and service and mission trip opportunities. At PVCP, the responsibility for student learning is mutually shared between the school, the parents, and the students, and this partnership ensures not only student accountability, but helps develop a lifestyle of learning. PVCP’s curriculum surpass state standards, and students routinely test above grade-level, finding themselves exceedingly well-prepared upon entering college. Use of Socratic forums provides students an outlet for exchanging ideas and challenging their classmates, thereby training them to think critically, articulate their beliefs, and root all assumptions in objective truth. More than half of all upperclassmen are enrolled in dual enrollment programs, providing students college credit upon graduation from PVCP. All high school students participate in a once-weekly tutorial group with four to five other students in which a faculty member-mentor monitors students’ academic progress and assists students in formulating plans for attaining excellence. While private, Christian education can be costly, the burden is made easier in Arizona through the generous use of private school tax-credits. Through approved “school tuition organizations,” donors may obtain a dollar-for-dollar tax-credit for contributions made and designated for your child’s private school education. Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory’s mission, for the glory of God, is to be the college preparatory of choice.
