Friends
One of the things we've learned through this work is that we spend a great deal of time preparing and supporting mothers, and rightfully so. But we don't always spend enough time helping fathers understand how to support, advocate for, and engage during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

That's why we are excited about an upcoming collaboration between Birthing the Magic Collaborative and Gabby Albert and her team at 4Kira4Moms:

4Kira4Dads: Fatherhood and Advocacy for Safer Births

This conversation is designed to provide an overview to help fathers become more informed, engaged, and confident members of the birth team. They will also introduce their new free app, designed to help dads recognize warning signs, ask thoughtful questions, support blood pressure monitoring, attend appointments, advocate with care, and know when to speak up.

A prepared dad can be a powerful partner. When fathers have the information and tools they need, families are stronger, and birth experiences can be safer.

We'd love for you to join us, and if this message resonates with you, I'd be grateful if you would share it with your network, colleagues, friends, and family who may benefit from the conversation.

Happy Father's Day to the dads, uncles, Pops, grandfathers, bonus dads, and all the men who show up with love, guidance, and support.

Today, we also honor the mamas carrying the responsibilities of both parents, showing up every day with strength, sacrifice, and unwavering love.

Families are built through care, commitment, and presence. Thank you to everyone standing in the gap, lending a hand, sharing wisdom, and helping children feel safe, seen, and loved.

Wishing you a day filled with appreciation and joy. πŸ’™

Dad, what would you do if something didn't seem right?

Would you know the warning signs? Would you know what questions to ask? Would you know when to speak up?

Too many families learn the answers too late.

Join Birthing the Magic Collaborative and 4Kira4Moms for **4Kira4Dads: Fatherhood and Advocacy for Safer Births**, a conversation about how fathers can support moms, advocate for care, and help create safer pregnancies, births, and postpartum journeys.

Last week, I had a difficult conversation with our team about fundraising.

We compared this year's donations to last year's, and someone raised a concern that many organizations serving Black communities are hearing right now: some people are questioning whether they should support nonprofits that openly state they focus on Black families.

I sat with that conversation.

We aren't naΓ―ve. We've seen the headlines. We've watched organizations quietly change their language or distance themselves from the communities they were created to serve.

But then I thought about why Birthing the Magic Collaborative exists.

We exist because Black women and babies continue to face unacceptable disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.

We exist because families deserve access to free, culturally relevant education and support.

We exist because birth should be sacred, safe, and supported.

The need hasn't changed, so neither has our mission.

As we approach Juneteenth, we're inviting you to help us support mamas and those who care for them.

Will you make a gift of $18.65 in honor of Juneteenth ~ June 19, 1865?
Also, will you please consider sharing this post?

And if sharing publicly doesn't feel comfortable, send it to a few friends in a DM and tell them why this mission matters to you.

Small actions add up.

That's how communities are built.
That's how movements grow.
That's how change happens.

Thank you for standing with Black birthing people and those who care for them.
