The Alhambra campus comprises approximately four square blocks and is located on the South side of Camelback Road, between 37th and 39th Avenues. It shares its floor plan/campus layout with its "sister school", Maryvale High School, located at the corner of 59th Avenue and Osborn. This shared plan and "sister school" status is often considered the impetus for the rivalry between the two school's athletics and sports teams and departments. It is the only school in the Phoenix Union High School District to host the Medical Arts Program. Notable alumni:
* Lynda Carter - actress, singer, songwriter, beauty pageant titleholder for Miss World America 1972, star of the TV series "Wonder Woman" during 1975-1979 containing 60 episodes. She went on to star in many other TV shows & movies.
* Nathan Laduke - pro football player. Drafted 11th round of the 1991 NFL Draft.
* Bob Breunig - pro football player. Became a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL from 1975 to 1984. He played college football at Arizona State University and was drafted in the third round of the 1975 NFL Draft.
* Pat Neve (Mr. USA 1975 and 1976 an AAU Mr. America class-winner - First runner-up in Mr. Universe and Mr. World) - Mr. USA.
* Jason P. Lester - 2009 ESPY Winner for Best Male Athlete with a Disability, Ultra Endurance Triathlete, and Author of Running on Faith: The Principles, Passion, and Pursuit of a Winning Life. He is also the first disabled athlete to compete in the Ultraman World Championships.
* Billy Boat - auto racing; 2nd place, Indy 500. Graduating from Arizona State University, he began his career in the U.S. Auto Club winning 11 straight Western Series races on his way to the 1995 championship. He won the Turkey Night Grand Prix midget car race in 1995. He was a three-peat winner in the event after winning in 1996 & 1997. He made his first Indy Racing League start in the 1997 Indianapolis 500 driving for A.J. Foyt Enterprises. In 1998 he won 6 poles, including 5 in a row, both league records, and won his first race at Texas Motor Speedway. He is one of the few drivers with the distinction to have started from both the pole (1998) & final 33rd (2000, 2001) starting position in the Indy 500.
* Eric Johnson - pro football player, as linebacker for eight seasons (2000–2007) for the Oakland Raiders, the Atlanta Falcons, & the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL, then signed as a free agent by the Georgia Force in the AFL in 2007.
* Paul Cook - Science Fiction writer, Classical Music critic, and a Principal Lecturer in the English Department at Arizona State University since 1982.
* Michelle Johnson - actress, attended 1981 to 1984, graduating one semester early in Jan. 1984. She was preparing to start a modeling career in New York City when she was spotted in Phoenix, and was quickly signed up to star in the 1984 romantic comedy film "Blame It On Rio" with Michael Caine, Joseph Bologna, Valerie Harper & Demi Moore. She went on to star in many other TV shows & movies.
* Joshua Valdez-Elizetxe - serial entrepreneur. 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year.
* Aaron Muñoz - baseball player. 2011 34th Round MLB Draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays.
