Following the news about having our incredible band welcome the community with music, the feeling was heavy. But then… we saw the smiles. We saw the students, teachers, and staff continue to show up.
Akimel A-al, this is where we prove what we are made of. Life throws you obstacles and disappointments—sometimes big ones—but the true lesson isn’t in the fall, it’s in the pivot! 🔄 It’s in the smile you choose to share anyway. It’s in learning that how you react is the true measurement of resilience and joy.
We are so incredibly proud of our students and staff for showing us all what it means to face challenge with graceful strength and unbreakable school pride. Let’s make every remaining moment together count.

The school year has officially ended, and it brings a wave of CHANGE here at Akimel A-al. One of the biggest changes of all is the retirement of our wonderful Mrs. Laura Stogsdill! 🌟✨
Thank you for your incredible time, love, and dedication to our campus. While retirement definitely came too soon for all of us, we are so incredibly happy for you as you start this next exciting chapter.
We won’t count the years you shared your life with this community, but please know that every single minute counted. You have made a lasting impact on so many students, families, and staff members, and your presence on campus will be deeply missed as we navigate these changes together. 🐍❤️

☕🍩 LOOKING BACK WITH RATTLER PRIDE 🍩
We are looking back at a morning that started with coffee, donuts, and community for our incredible staff. Later that very same day, the Kyrene Governing Board hosted their community meeting right here at our school, listening to powerful stories and reasons why Akimel A-al should remain open.
While the board ultimately voted to close our school, the spirit of this campus remains unbroken. Your PTSO continues strong, fully embracing our students, teachers, and staff.
Our mission has not changed. We are dedicated to making this middle school experience completely worthwhile, full of joy, and deeply memorable for every single Rattler. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us, support our staff, and show up for our kids! 🐍❤️

We were so honored to be invited into the studio as guests this year. What great hosts to have our PTSO on the show! ❤️ It was an absolute blast getting to share the screen with these talented student broadcasters and feel that amazing energy firsthand.
