Chaparral affords students a rich curriculum aligned to Arizona College and Career Ready Standards.
Chaparral Elementary School, in the Washington Elementary School District, serves more than 500 prekindergarten through sixth grade children in the neighborhood bordered by Cactus Avenue on the south and Thunderbird Avenue on the north, from 35th Avenue to 43rd Avenue. The school received a โAโ
rating by the Arizona Department of Education for 2021-2022.

It's safe to say our new students are ready for KINDERGARTEN! ๐ Our Jumpstart to Kindergarten teachers, Ms. Gering and Ms. O, have prepped our incoming Kinders for their next adventure. We can't wait to watch them flourish in the 2026-2027 school year! ๐

Summer school has their last day of Paws for Youth. ๐ถ They performed some agility exercises and the dogs rode a skateboard! ๐น Students were picked to run the course and our own Ms. O also completed the course with flying colors. ๐

Our endless summer shine! โ๏ธ Mr. Iafrate is teaching our incoming 5th graders, the 4th grade Ocean Explorers, about Folklore stories and using tangrams they had to create their own stories. What a great combination of Math and English Language Arts! ๐

Sixteen WESD schools have been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2026-2027 school year! The goals of the FFVP are to encourage healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education, increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children, and make a difference in childrenโs diets to positively impact their present and future health.
