Thank you to all the students and families who visited our summer meal sites and shared meals with us. We loved seeing your smiles and introducing new foods throughout the summer.

The Nutrition Services Department is comprised of approximately 180 employees preparing meals daily.
The Nutrition Services Department is comprised of approximately 180 employees preparing breakfast, lunch and after-school snacks at 32 sites. Each school kitchen is managed by a Certified Nutrition Services Manager. This manager has completed an extensive food safety course and passed the ServSafe exam. The Nutrition Services staff believes that together we can make a healthy difference in the lives of the students in the Washington Elementary School District.

Dairy foods provide important nutrients like calcium, vitamin D, and protein to help support strong bones and healthy growth. We offer lots of delicious dairy foods throughout the year.

We are proud to share that free summer meals will be extended through July! βοΈπ
From June 22 to July 31, free breakfast and lunch meals for all children and teenagers up to 18 years old will be available Monday through Friday at six different locations. Due to Independence Day, meals will not be served on Friday, July 3.
No application or registration is needed. All meals must be consumed on-site. Adult meals will also be offered at a cost.

Fresh news for the ! ππ₯π
Sixteen WESD schools have been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2026-2027 school year! The goals of the FFVP are to encourage healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education, increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children, and make a difference in childrenβs diets to positively impact their present and future health.
