Future APC students and their families had a wonderful time exploring the school during our Kindergarten Scavenger Hunt!
Using maps, families discovered different learning spaces throughout the building, made new friends, and ended the evening with a sweet treat and lots of smiles.

As part of an upcoming facility improvement project, work to remove and replace the turf at Lenzner Field will begin on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
For the safety of our students, staff, contractors, and community members, the stadium and track area will be closed throughout the month of June. Public access to the facility will not be permitted during this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these upgrades. We look forward to reopening the facility once the project is complete.

This year, Avonworth Elementary students explored the exciting world of podcasting while building communication, technology, and leadership skills.
Our 5th grade student ambassadors helped launch the school's podcast feed, learned from the Saturday Light Brigade, and even visited their professional studios.
One of the highlights of the year was interviewing Avonworth's state champion swimmers, giving younger students the opportunity to hear firsthand about dedication, teamwork, and success.
We're proud of our student podcasters for sharing their voices and creativity with our school community! ✨

Learning beyond the classroom!
After completing a writing assignment to earn the opportunity, our 8th grade Civics students visited the Allegheny County Courthouse to experience the Judicial Branch firsthand.
Students observed real criminal trials, met members of the Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, and spoke with judges and attorneys about the judicial process. It was a memorable opportunity to see classroom learning come to life and gain a deeper understanding of our court system.
