Congratulations to our first year professional phase students who received their Bachelor of science degrees on Friday! Today they were back to campus for their first summer semester as they continue to work toward their Master’s degrees! Way to go, SLP Class of 2027!

What an amazing day at the Adaptive Sports Encounter! Led by Envision Blind Sports and part of our RSHS Month of Unity, this event brought students, clinicians, and community members together in powerful ways. Huge thanks to alum Gretchen Myers (Center4Speech) for her service on the RSHS Community Building and Engagement Committee and for sharing this moment with us!

This morning, members of the SLP department along with hundreds of others at Duquesne University, participated in the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention. This event brings people together to support mental health, remember those we have lost, and remind one another that we are not alone.

It was a beautiful morning and a special event to be part of.

First year professional phase students from the SLP-550 Dysphagia course visited the School of Nursing Learning and Simulation Center to conduct clinical swallowing evaluations on an acute stroke patient.
