Let yoga help you to be a faster, more efficient, and less injured runner! www.runnersloveyoga.tv Do you love running? Then, you should love yoga!

Yoga is an amazing complement to running, and can make you a more efficient, faster, and stronger athlete—in addition to helping prevent injuries. By taking a time-out from competition to direct attention to your breathing and body, yoga can help with stress relief, as well as give you a better awareness of how your body is responding to practices, workouts, and competition. Running into the homestretch of the Furever Homes 8k benefitting Heritage Humane Society two weekends ago! This one came on the tail end of 2 consecutive days over 100 degrees F for the high so I knew it would be a hot one, but this course featured (very thankfully!) a ton of shade through the Greensprings Trail near Jamestown High School. This was a really neat fine crushed gravel path through the woods with lots of turns and several wooden bridges too—very scenic and a great distraction from the humidity! Will definitely do this one again! Local races (especially benefitting animals!!) are the best races.

Here’s a sequence that I nearly always do after my warmup before I race! Gio was an exceptionally good helper today! 😆

A week of running as a small business owner!

Why is this post last Wednesday to yesterday? 🤣 Honestly because I didn’t have time this Monday to do to the usual Monday to Sunday even though that’s how I usually count my running volume! (I was getting ready for someone to ask me if I start my week mid-week!! Does anybody do Sunday to Saturday? I’ve done Monday to Sunday for forever, which is super helpful since my long runs can be either weekend day!!!) This mid-week to mid-week is kind of interesting though because it’s easier to see my lower mileage days before/after the long run and racing, so maybe I’ll do this again like this!

Fun things:
👯‍♀️ any runs over 3 miles are with friends. It’s how I run over 3 miles, not even joking. 😂
🏊‍♀️ swims not pictured!
🥵 Thursday and Friday were legit 100 DEGREES F so it was an easy call to not run much those days!!
🎉 Last week, Monday to Sunday (lol) was my first week over 30 miles in a couple months!! (As you can see I’m doing a lot of other moving, so likely keeping my mileage where it’s been in the 20s or low 30s for now!)

Summer may be warm, but honest to God, I love summer training. This season is just so beautiful and energizing!!

What’s better than winning?! TWINNING and winning!!! Had a blast at the Heritage Humane Heritage Humane Society Furever Home 8k this morning going 1-2 with my friend Emily in some extremely hot and humid conditions!! This was a super fun course partly on the Green Springs trail system which I had never run before! And truly, it was HOT. It has been 100 degrees F (37 degrees C) here in Charlottesville and Williamsburg the past two days and I was very grateful for the shade along the course!

Have been wanting to do this one for a while because of the animal rescue component and really enjoyed the adorable adoptable puppy at the starting line who was just the cutest little potato!! Also just had a blast on this mini one day vacay with Phillip in Williamsburg!! Just nice to get away for a little escape!!

Outfits!!: Kella Pocket Crop Top in bubblegum pink + Madison Pocket Shorts in smoked violet colorblock! 👯‍♀️ 🎉

5:01 and won the Bruce Barnes Mile this morning! Super fun to win this one again! Really close to cracking 5:00 but I will take it as I think I paced this one just right! As is now tradition, went blueberry picking postrace with Phillip and my running friend Maggie! Great June morning with sunshine, beautiful scenery, running, and running friends.

The kitties were excited about the blueberries; Boo Boo likes to eat them! 😆
