π¨ We Need the Community to Show Up for This One π¨
Juneteenth in the Garden is almost here, and while we're excited for the music, food, art, and celebration, one part of this event is especially important: Our Food Distribution Giveawayπ₯¬
We have a large amount of food ready to be distributed, and our goal is simpleβmake sure it gets into the hands of the people who need it. This is where we need your help.
Please spread the word. Tell your neighbors. Share this post. Call a friend. Let your church, community group, or family members know. If you know someone who could benefit from fresh food, invite them to come.
At Freeman Family Farm, we believe food should be accessible to everyone. The success of this giveaway depends on our community coming together to make sure no food goes to waste and no neighbor gets overlooked.
Of course, there will also be plenty to celebrate:
πΆ Live DJs
π₯ Steel drum performers
π¨ Community art experience
π½οΈ Food, fellowship, and connection
But at the heart of this event is community care. We need Pittsburgh to show up and show out so this food reaches every family, individual, and neighbor who can use it.

Hello ATA families,
PPS has approved the Future-Ready Facilities Plan. Allegheny PreK-5 will operate as normal during the 2026-2027 school year. Beginning in 2027-2028, the school will relocate to the King facility and become a neighborhood school. Students outside the new attendance area will attend their assigned neighborhood school. Current students entering 5th grade in 2027-2028 may apply to remain through Open Enrollment if space is available. Please see the attached letter for additional details or visit the district website at www.pghschools.org. Have a safe, restful, and great summer!
