When we’re young, our parents can seem too strict. Constantly correcting us on how we sit, speak, laugh, or eat and it can feel frustrating at the time.

But as we grow older, we often realize those corrections were never meant to make life harder. They were lessons in good manners, strong character, and carrying ourselves with dignity and respect.

A simple lesson: the people who correct you the most are often the ones who care about you the most. What feels like strictness today may be guidance you’ll appreciate tomorrow.

May Allāh ﷻ help us understand our parents better, appreciate their efforts, and benefit from their advice. Āmīn.
