Today, our friends from Under My Umbrella stopped by to collect the thank-you cards our Rockstar students created for service members deployed overseas.

It’s easy to take for granted the freedoms we enjoy every day, but those freedoms exist because brave men and women choose to serve something greater than themselves.

At Rockstar Martial Arts, our mission extends beyond teaching martial arts. We strive to instill core values like respect, gratitude, leadership, and service in the next generation. Today was a small reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a meaningful impact.

Thank you to all of our students who took the time to write a message of encouragement, and thank you to the men and women who serve our country.

Dear Parents,

We have some concerning news.

Coach Lawson has completely lost control.

He has planned an entire week filled with martial arts, games, challenges, Nerf battles, LEGO competitions, teamwork, laughter, and enough excitement to send your child home talking non-stop about camp.

We're not sure what happened.

What we do know is that from July 13th–17th, Rockstar Martial Arts will be transformed into a headquarters of controlled chaos, fun, and unforgettable memories.

Here's What We're Up Against:

Super Hero Day
(Yes, capes are encouraged. Flying is not.)

Board Game Day
(Competitive family board game habits may surface.)

LEGO Challenge Day
(No parent has ever stepped on a LEGO and enjoyed it.)

Nerf Gun WAR
(Bring your own Nerf gun. Leave your battle plans at home.)

Movie, Pizza & Popcorn Day
(Because even tiny warriors need recovery days.)

Leadership Starts With Example

Children are always watching.

They watch how we handle challenges, how we treat others, and how we respond when things don't go our way. Long before children become leaders themselves, they're learning what leadership looks like from the adults around them.

One of the most powerful ways to teach respect is to model it.

When students see adults being kind, patient, honest, and respectful, they begin to understand what those qualities look like in action. The same is true on the mat. Students who lead by example—by listening, encouraging teammates, and showing respect to coaches and classmates—help create a positive environment for everyone around them.

At Rockstar, we believe leadership isn't about being the loudest person in the room. It's about setting a standard others want to follow.

The best leaders don't demand respect—they earn it through their actions.
