THANK YOU to everyone that helped and continues to help make this event successful. There have been numerous people sharing flyers/videos/etc., referring vendors to the book fair, and investing in/supporting the community in ways seen and unseen.
Thank you Frank Mansell for your unwavering support and encouragement! Thank you to WBPC committees, staff, and congregation as a whole (to name a few: Kevin, Will, Susan, Ron Sr., Jennifer, Emily, & Courtney) for volunteering & assisting! Special shout out to WBPC Youth Group for volunteering the day before your big day! Thank you Coach Kay for being the lead volunteer and reminding me to drink, eat, and be present! Thank you Spencer for sharing the volunteer opportunity with your students! Thank you Gracesyn and Malachi for volunteering for the entire day! Thank you to all the vendors for sharing your work with the world and helping build community in real time! Thank you to the panelists (CJ, Dr. Bullock, Joe, & Victoria) for all the work you do and for being you! Thank you to my family and friends for your support before, during, and after the book fair! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!
It’s been beautiful to watch the community we are building grow and inspire others. From witnessing authors and patrons fellowship, to capturing videos/pics of one another, to being fully present and engaged in the panel discussion, one thing’s for certain, two things for sure:
1. It takes a village.
2. The Holy Spirit was present last Saturday at the 4th Annual Black Authors Book Fair.
