It was a beautiful day in the Sierras on Friday as we took to the trails with the inaugural cohort of EPIC's Trail Fundamentals Certificate: Essentials of Trail Maintenance! Part of the TMCC EPIC Trail Skills Project, students learned about safety, tools, and trail maintenance basics before putting it all to work on a project with our partners at Sky Tavern.

A big thank you to our students, EPIC Instructors Jeff and Matt, Kristen, Toph, and the team at Sky Tavern and the support of the Greg Nelson Trust to help educate our community on ways we can care for our trails and open doors to a career in outdoor recreation.

Thinking about going electric? This three-session course offers a practical, easy-to-understand introduction to electric vehicles (EVs) and how they fit into everyday life in Northern Nevada. Learn how EVs work and the differences between hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric. Compare costs with gasoline vehicles, explore home and public charging options, and understand range, safety, winter driving, and available rebates and incentives. You’ll also dispel myths and discuss common questions surrounding EVs. By the end of the course, you’ll have the clarity and confidence to decide whether an electric vehicle is the right choice for your lifestyle and budget.
