at Woodland Job Corps Center, where Student Government Association leaders attended a birthday event for U.S. Congressman Steny Hoyer to conduct community outreach.
Students Mario Davis, Mario Curtis II and Joanna Khandagale took advantage of the event to promote Job Corps to attendees and thank Rep. Steny for his many years of steadfast Job Corps support. They also met with U.S. Senator Alsobrooks and U.S. Rep. Glenn Ivey to share their thanks.
The students were accompanied by Programs Director Latasha Kearise, Recruitment/Placement Director Kevin Greene and HR Manager Janiel Adams. They ensured the students were equipped with Job Corps tote bags and excellent customer service as they engaged with potential applicant influencers.

at Delaware Valley Job Corps Center, where students had an electrifying visit to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 363 Training Center in Harriman, NY.
Students toured the union hall and training classrooms and enjoyed a firsthand look at the equipment and tools used by the apprentices. The visit made a strong impression on the participants, with many saying that they planned to apply for the next round of apprenticeship applications in August.

at the Mississippi Job Corps Center, where Career Preparation students went on the road for a trip to the Nissan Manufacturing facility in Canton.
The facility produces more than 400,000 vehicles annually and accommodates 4,000 employees. Students learned about the variety of manufacturing positions available through the facility and gained insight into workplace expectations.

at Grafton Job Corps Center, where Center leaders participated in the 2026 Massachusetts Manufacturing Workforce Ecosystem Summit.
Grafton Center Director Nicole Trombly and Recruitment/Placement Director Amanda Ranmarine attended the event, hosted by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and held at the College of the Holy Cross. They met with dozens of workforce development professionals and manufacturing partners to promote the Grafton Center's Advanced Manufacturing program.
They also participated in working groups that shared best practices on industry engagement and coordination, manufacturing career pathways and post-placement retention. The latter focused on industry workplace expectations and ensuring employees felt connected to their organization as they sought professional growth.
The event allowed Center leaders to brainstorm solutions and best practices for students transitioning into manufacturing positions.

Thank you to U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith for the powerful Job Corps support expressed in her press release on the U.S. Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee hearing.
Sen. Hyde-Smith has seen firsthand the value of Job Corps for national shipbuilders like HII. She has been a strong advocate for the Mississippi Job Corps Centers.

at the New Hampshire Job Corps Center, where four students recently completed a month-long manufacturing internship with Tecomet, Inc.
The experience helped students strengthen their technical skills as well as essential workplace habits such as teamwork, communication and attention to detail. All participants received certifications of completion in recognition of their hard work during the internship.
Students involved included Xaviery Haith, Alex Geffard, Kerwin Rodriguez, Claudens Polycarpe and Levi Nsi.
Tecomet, which develops precision manufacturing for medical devices and aerospace, has been a long-time partner of the Center and has hired several graduates.
