Mark Your Calendars: The 2026-2027 school year begins on the following dates: Grades 1-5 on August 26, Kindergarten on August 31, and Pre-School on September 8. I know we just said goodbye but we can't wait to see our Fairwood Chargers! 💙💛

We are delighted to have celebrated our students today and wish them and their families a wonderful summer as they head into summer break. ☀️ Happy Summer!

Mrs. Riddle shared with us that this year our Multilingual Education students at Fairwood enjoyed listening to Audiobooks on a Tonie device purchased for students with a grant from the Kent Schools Foundation.

Titles include fiction and nonfiction books that appeal to varied interests and different age groups in our K-5 program. Some of the kids’ favorites are the National Geographic Astronaut book, and the Magic Treehouse series. Another popular title is the Chicka Chicka Boom-Boom book, which helps them learn the alphabet letters and sounds.

Thank you Kent Schools Foundation and Mrs. Riddle for building the love of reading in all our students. 💙

Thank you to our PTSA for gifting all Chargers with matching spirit gear today. Students and staff enjoyed having matching outfits with each other. What a thoughtful way to build community and include everyone in showing Fairwood Charger Spirit!

Grad Walk 2026! Congratulations to all graduates and their families. We also loved having a few retired and former teachers of this group of graduates join in one more stroll around campus with this great group of Fairwood Chargers. What a special moment. 💙💛

Sending a huge thank you to Kent Schools Foundation for their help in buying a set of ten new glockenspiels for the music room! So far, they’ve been used by students of all grade levels, including being some of kindergarten’s first instruments and part of the third-grade composition unit. Thanks to this grant money, Fairwood’s music program will have these instruments for many years to come.

We invite all Fairwood alumni graduating in 2026 to join our annual graduate walk this Tuesday, June 9th at 2:30pm. Please arrive a few minutes prior to the event at the Fairwood office to check in and gather. Please feel free to share this invitation with graduates and encourage them to participate in this memorable experience.
