SUMMER BIRTHDAY BASH!!! 🥳🐝🥳🐝🥳

The last Monday of the preschool year we always celebrate the kiddos who have birthdays during the summer with one BIG party at snack time! Usually for birthdays during the preschool year, the students get to bring a special treat from home to share at snack time; but since there were 4 summer birthdays this year, Mrs. B made the special treat (bumblebee cupcakes!) and the kids got to pass out party favor bags to their friends after recess!

Ayyeee me maytees!! It was a swashbuckling great time experiencing our “X Marks the Spot” theme and Pirate Week at Busy Bees & ABC’s this past week! We learned how pirates used to bury their treasure and how they made secret maps and used the letter “X” to mark where it was buried so they could find it again later! We created our very own treasure maps, practiced our knowledge of pirate-y prepositional phrases, and made some really cool skull and crossbones pirate hats! Of course we had to eat yummy cheesy Pirates B***y at snack time, and at recess we followed the steps on a big map of our playground that led us to an old wooden treasure chest filled with delicious candy ring pops!!! 🏴‍☠️☠️🗺️🪎💎🏴‍☠️ (video from our outdoor treasure hunt will be posted in the comments section)

Last week for our “Earth Can Depend on Me!” theme, we learned all about recycling and keeping our environment clean. We recycled pieces of trash and created a beautiful “litter bug” craft. At circle time we practiced our counting and addition skills by recycling water bottles with Super Girl and Super Boy, and read a silly rhyming story called “Michael Recycle”. We also did a super fun outdoor activity called the Recycle Race, where we ran around the play yard picking up all of Mrs. B’s recycling that was strewn about, then sorted the items into the correct bins! Video of that will be posted in the comments section below.

Dinosaur Week!! (last week, lol, I’m running a little behind!) 🦖🦕🌋🌴 We had such a BLAST learning all about volcanoes and lots of amazing and awesome dinosaurs! We focussed on what types of foods the different dinosaurs ate, and learned 3 BIG new words: Carnivore, Herbivore, and Omnivore! At snack time on Wednesday we got to decide if which type of Dino-mite eater we wanted to be! The carnivores chose the beef stick pieces; herbivores chose the lettuce; and omnivores chose both! (Most of us were carnivores and omnivores…apparently a plain lettuce diet is not very appealing, lol 😂…and we all ate some cheese crackers, too, so technically the class is 💯 omnivore!🤗)
