🎶 Some dreams take years to bring to life.

For quite some time, Anna and Cristian have been collecting pieces of tango history with the hope of sharing them with the Richmond community in a meaningful way.

That vision is finally starting to take shape.

🌎 The Virginia Tango Museum is coming soon to our studio and will feature artifacts connected to the history and culture of authentic Argentine tango, including a bandoneon, a victrola, fashion pieces, and other treasures that tell the story of this remarkable dance!

✨ Phase One is expected to be ready in time for the June 27 Milonga.

More than a display, this is an opportunity to experience the cultural roots of tango and gain a deeper appreciation for the music, traditions, and history that continue to inspire us today.

💃 From their first Super Beginner Easy Start class to dancing at their wedding and honeymooning in Buenos Aires…

Lena and Richard’s story started the same way many of our students’ stories begin: by signing up for the Super Beginner Easy Start Course.

Summer at Virginia Tango☀️

Our summer beginner sessions are shorter for the season, making it even easier to step in and try something new. Along the way, you will meet people, learn in a welcoming environment, and experience tango in a way that feels approachable from the very beginning.

Outside of class, the summer continues with milongas, member celebrations, and evenings that bring everyone together on and off the dance floor.

A lot of people come in expecting to take a dance class. What they find is a community and friends they want to keep coming back to.👯

This summer, we are slowing the schedule down without slowing the experience down.💃

Our summer session moves to a three-week format, giving you a relaxed way to keep dancing, stay connected, and continue growing throughout the season.

That also means our Super Beginner Courses are only three weeks long during the 3 summer months.✨

You will move through the course a little faster, celebrate with a glass of champagne at the end, and have the opportunity to become an official Virginia Tango member even sooner.

From there, you can continue attending classes, working on your skills at practica, and joining us at milongas throughout the summer.

At the end of the Super Beginner course, students receive their first bracelet. It marks the beginning of becoming part of the Virginia Tango community.

As time goes on, more bracelets are added through classes, milongas, and experiences shared together. They come back each week not only because they love tango, but because they feel connected to the space and the people in it.

What starts as trying something new slowly becomes something familiar. You recognize faces when you walk in, you stay after class talking, and before long, it feels natural to keep coming back.
