If you are helping lead a young school, you know how much weight financial decisions can carry.
Tuition, faculty compensation, enrollment growth, cash reserves, and long-term sustainability all shape the health of your school and the confidence of your community.
At SC26, Chuck Evans will bring decades of experience to *Financial Leadership for Young Schools: The First Ten Years*, a practical and encouraging session designed to help you navigate the economic realities that shape a school’s early years with greater clarity and confidence.
Chuck is the founder of BetterSchools LLC, a former classical Christian school headmaster, and one of the founders of the Society for Classical Learning. He has spent years helping schools across the country build healthier, stronger, and more sustainable institutions.
If you are building, leading, or strengthening a growing school, this is a session worth being in the room for.

Most schools have a Portrait of a Graduate.
Far fewer can honestly say it is shaping the daily life of the school.
If your faculty, culture, and student experience are not clearly aligned around your school’s mission, this session is worth your attention.
At SC26, Dr. Russ Kapusinski will explore how schools can operationalize and re-animate their Portrait of a Graduate so it becomes more than aspirational language. Drawing on decades of experience in classical Christian education and leadership, Russ will offer practical ways to restore alignment between vision, culture, and lived reality.
Especially relevant for Heads of School and leadership teams working to strengthen institutional clarity and coherence.

Classical Christian schools often focus on moral formation.
But what intellectual virtues are students learning through the life of the classroom?
At SC26, Jim Reynolds and Andrew Smith will explore how schools cultivate wisdom, discernment, and the love of truth in *The Virtues Only a School Can Teach*.
This session will help educators think carefully about how teaching shapes not only what students know, but how they reason and perceive what is true.
Especially relevant for teachers and instructional leaders committed to the deeper aims of classical Christian education.

Still deciding about SC26? Here’s what you should know:
📍 Yes, it’s at the Ga***rd Texan.
Which means great meeting spaces, late-night conversations with colleagues, coffee shop debriefs, and yes... the water park.
🎤 The plenary lineup is stacked.
Peter Greer. Leslie Moeller. Lydia Dugdale. Jonathan Pageau.
📚 The breakout sessions are genuinely practical.
AI in the classroom. Parent partnership. Financial leadership. School culture. Intellectual virtue. Retention. Advancement. Student formation. Real conversations schools are already having.
👥 Bring your team. Seriously.
Many schools attend together so teachers, leaders, and staff can divide sessions, learn alongside peers in similar roles, and come back aligned instead of overwhelmed.

What we hope to see in our graduates begins much earlier than we often realize.
Our Lower School preconference track focuses on the formative work of the Grammar years, helping teachers and leaders think more clearly about habits, loves, and the role of early instruction in shaping students for what lies ahead.
