Inspirational gathering of these Heads of our three tuition-free independent schools today. It was a “see you soon” to Anna Julia Cooper School’s retiring Head, Mike Maruca, and a warm welcome to his successor, Tommy Blain, from the Head of St. Andrew's School, Hannah Inglut Barr, and our host, Brittany Lopes, Head of Rise Academy. They are all kicking off a well-deserved summer slow down, and are also eager for the work ahead this Fall.

Our last 5th grade spotlight is Kyrie! 💙
One moment Kyrie really loved at St. Andrew’s was visiting the Giants exhibit in 5th grade. Like many of her classmates, the experience stood out to her because she loves Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. “They’re amazing artists,” she shared.
Kyrie’s favorite subject at St. Andrew’s is social studies because she enjoys creating projects and presenting them to the class.
As she gets ready for middle school, Kyrie is especially excited for tennis and theatre. She has wanted to try tennis for a long time, and theatre is the perfect fit for her love of singing, dancing, and acting.
We are so proud of you, Kyrie! 🎓✨

Meet Dziyah! 💙

One of Dziyah’s favorite St. Andrew’s traditions is Field Day. She says it’s hard to choose just one favorite memory because there are so many moments she loved, and she knows she’ll miss all of them.

Her favorite school year was 3rd grade because her teacher really supported her through a challenge and that made a lasting impact on her. She still misses having that teacher very much.

As Dziyah gets ready for middle school, she’s excited to meet new friends and learn new things along the way.

We are so proud of you, Dziyah! 🎓✨
