The HBCU Sisterhood: Testimonies of Triumph and Transformation amplifies the voices of Black women who led Historically Black Colleges and Universities through moments of crisis, change, and institutional transformation.

The project originated through the vision of Virginia Union University President & CEO Dr. Hakim J. Lucas and the Center for the Study of HBCUs at VUU, creating space to honor the leadership, resilience, and lasting impact of Black women presidents across the HBCU landscape.

Their stories are testimonies of triumph, strategy, courage, and transformation.

The reaffirmation reflects the strength and quality of the Sydney Lewis School of Business and its ongoing success in preparing students to lead in an evolving global marketplace. “At the Sydney Lewis School of Business, we remain committed to advancing opportunity, innovation, and economic mobility through high-quality business education,” said Wendy Jewell, Dean of the Sydney Lewis School of Business.
