A parent’s literacy skills can have a lasting impact on a child’s education. Research shows that when parents are engaged in literacy activities and learning, children demonstrate stronger literacy development and reading achievement. Parents who read, learn, and practice literacy skills at home help create an environment where education is valued and encouraged.
At ReadWest, we help adults build the literacy skills they need to achieve their goals—and strengthen the educational foundation of future generations.

Throwback Student Story: Shahin
In 2022, Shahin shared her experience as a ReadWest student after moving to the United States from Iran. Through dedication, hard work, and support from ReadWest tutors, she improved her English skills and successfully prepared for the U.S. citizenship test alongside her husband.
"I started a new life in United States. Thank you ReadWest for all of these."
We're grateful that Shahin shared her story and honored to have been part of her literacy journey.
