Meet one of our new members, Gia Nohe’a Lani Valdez, and learn why she went Kappa!

“Hi!! I’m Gia and I’m a second-year Biology major from San Diego, California. I love going out with my friends and trying out cute cafe spots especially matcha 🥰. Right now I’m learning how to crochet. A fun fact about me is that I have ten cats.

“I chose Kappa because I knew from the moment I walked into the room, I felt seen, heard, and genuinely understood. I kept wanting to come back because being around all of these amazing women just felt right to me. Their passion for mental health advocacy meant even more, because it’s something that I hold very close to my heart and is oftentimes overlooked. Kappa has shown me the family I was missing away from home & a sisterhood that truly cares. I am so honored to have found my second home. Everyone has been so welcoming, supporting, and loving. I can’t wait to see how much more I can grow alongside this amazing group of women. Forever Kappa 🩵”

Meet one of our new members, Leena Rehman, and hear about why she went Kappa!

“Hi! I’m Leena, a second-year Psychology major from the Bay Area!! In my free time, I love going to concerts, running, and exploring/side questing with friends 😛 A fun fact about me is that Taylor Swift once tweeted a picture of me (and I’ve also been to the Eras Tour four times…)

“I went Kappa because as a transfer student, I wanted to find a community of girls with goals similar to mine! When I first met these girls, I immediately knew this was the sisterhood I wanted to be a part of, everyone was so funny, smart, cool, and gorgeous. I also spend a lot of time volunteering, and KKG’s philanthropy really resonates with me as a strong advocate for mental health🥰

“I’m so grateful to have met the amazing girls I have and to be surrounded by such inspiring and incredible women. I can’t wait to see what the rest of my years at UCR hold as part of KKG 🩵”
