We are the Placer Chapter of the Sac State Alumni Association. This chapter is open to anyone living, working or from the Placer region. Join us!
For students and alumni of Sac State who live in Placer County, there is now a new way to stay connected to the university and build relationships with fellow alumnus. Placer County has formed its own chapter of the Sac State Alumni Association. That chapter became official on May 16, 2016. It is the school’s first chapter based on geography, rather than areas of interest. We invited you to get involved!

🎓Placer Alumni Spotlight
With graduation right around the corner, we’re proud to spotlight alumni Maggie Bender-Johnson, President & CEO of Bender Insurance Solutions in Roseville. A third-generation leader, Maggie has carried forward her family’s legacy and continued growing the company into the largest employee-owned, family-led commercial insurance brokerage in the Sacramento region.
Her journey is a reminder to this year’s soon-to-be graduates that where you start can shape where you lead, through service, education, and a commitment to making an impact!

Thank you to everyone who joined our Spring Open Member Meeting this week! Your questions, ideas, and energy are exactly why this chapter keeps growing.
A few things worth sharing:
💚 More than 25,000 Sacramento State Alumni call Placer County home. That is a lot of green and gold in one zip code radius.
💛 Our chapter endowment has grown to $40,000 and counting, fueled in large part by our Annual Topgolf Tournament and the alumni who show up year after year to swing, sponsor, and celebrate.
💚 In the past few years, we've awarded two $2,500 scholarships to Placer County students attending Sacramento State, helping local Hornets take flight without the weight of extra tuition costs.
💛 New board seats open in July 2026, and we want to hear from alumni ready to help shape what comes next. Whether you are interested in events, mentorship, fundraising, or community building, there is a seat at the table for you.
