Ai could never!! Each year our 6th graders memorize and recite “Horatius at the Bridge”, a 70 stanza poem by Thomas Babington Macaulay about a Roman officer who single-handedly holds off an invading Etruscan army. It’s absolutely incredible to hear the entire class recite it. A practice in history, memorization, public speaking, and classic literature.

“To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his gods”

The sweetest tradition at the end of the year is always the Kindergarten Growing Up Ceremony. The most exciting part is ALWAYS getting to finally wear their hard earned virtue crowns! Nothing brings on the sentimental feelings like this special event. It concludes with their own little lunch together and a special blessing.
🇺🇸Memorial Day 🇺🇸At PBVM, students practice the virtue of patriotism daily as they learn to be good citizens of this world and the next. Loving our nation and honoring those who died for our freedom .

A PBVM graduation tradition… the graduating 8th graders pass the light to the new incoming 8th grade class. Such a special part of the Baccalaureate Mass.
PBVM graduation tradition…. A lunch for the 8th grade graduates hosted by the 7th grade! It’s a way for all the families and graduates to spend one last special moment together before they go off on their new journey! 7th grade parents plan the event and the 7th grade students serve.
