Camellia Waldorf School was founded in 1989 and is an independent school, Pre-K through 8th Grade.

Our campus resides on three acres in Sacramento’s Pocket neighborhood. The unique beauty of our school truly shines once you pass through our gates. With our dedicated teachers and staff, smaller classes, and the wisdom of a Waldorf curriculum, children receive the gifts of an academic experience that is so much more than just learning. At Camellia, children have the opportunity to blossom into their truest and best selves.

The 5th grade main lesson books have been bound and sent home. One of the sweetest moments at the end of the school year is flipping through these rich pages and seeing a year’s worth of work — learning, creativity, effort and growth, all captured by hand.

One of the most beloved moments of our End-of-Year Ceremony is the reverse rose presentation. Our 1st grade students gifted a rose to their 8th grade buddy, honoring their journey and wishing them well as they prepare to leave Camellia and begin a new chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🌹

Working with natural materials, simple tools, and their own ingenuity, our 3rd grade students completed their shelter projects. Each class had an opportunity to view their shelters, ask questions and learn something special about each project. Well done 3rd grade!

It’s incredible watching our 7th graders step into the laws of the physical world with their own bodies! While in their Physics and Mechanics block, they are exploring levers, balance and force — lifting, testing, adjusting and discovering how small shifts can create big changes. With each experiment, abstract ideas become lived experiences.

Our 6th grade class shared a truly special gift with the community — an outdoor performance of The Light Princess on a beautiful spring evening. Surrounded by golden light and fresh air, their work came to life through an incredible ensemble of actors, musicians and storytellers.

In 5th grade, students journey into the rich world of ancient mythology — exploring the stories of Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece. Through epic heroes, powerful gods and timeless tales, they begin to wonder about courage, justice and what it means to be human. These stories are not just learned— they are experienced through storytelling, art and imagination.

Our 3rd grade class is delighted to have baby chicks in the classroom! Students of all ages have been stopping by to enjoy the sweet chirps and tiny fluffballs. What a gift it is to witness new life so closely and to care for these little ones during their very first weeks in the world. 🐣

Handwork joy! In handwork class, the children’s hands are busy — and so are their hearts. With each stitch, they build patience, focus and quiet confidence. Simple materials transform into something meaningful, teaching that true learning lives in the doing. 🧶
