Today was a very special day at Lilypad — we released our butterflies! 🦋✨
This year, we not only got to watch the different stages of the butterfly life cycle, but we also got to witness them emerging from their chrysalises yesterday! It was such an exciting and meaningful STEAM experience for the children as they observed, asked questions, and watched nature’s process unfold right in front of them.
We loved learning about the butterfly life cycle from caterpillar, to chrysalis, to beautiful butterfly — and today we said goodbye as they flew off into the world! 🦋🌿

Today we had dance class with Ms. Christine outside on the deck! 💃🩰
The kids had so much fun moving, stretching, twirling, and learning through music and dance in the fresh air. Dance class is such a wonderful way for children to build coordination, balance, confidence, listening skills, and creative expression — all while having the best time!

Today’s summer schedule activity was Sink or Float! 🌊🧪
In this fun STEAM activity, the kids got hands-on experience exploring buoyancy. Each child selected 2 toys and made a prediction about whether they would sink or float. Then, with a friend, they tested their theories by running their own little experiments!
We love creating opportunities for children to learn through play, curiosity, and discovery. 💙✨

Today at Lilypad, we transferred our chrysalises into their butterfly house, where they will soon emerge as butterflies! 🦋
It has been so much fun watching them eat, grow, and change right before our eyes. This has been such a wonderful natural science and STEAM experience as the children explore life cycles in a hands-on way.

Today at Lilypad, Ms. Christine joined us for dance class! 🩰✨
Our little dancers practiced ballet movements like plié and glissade, while using their listening skills, balance, coordination, and creativity. Dance class is such a fun way to build gross motor skills, confidence, rhythm, and body awareness.

Water Wednesday was a splashing success! 💦☀️
Today at Lilypad, the children explored three sensory tables and had so much fun jumping through the sprinkler!
Water play is more than just fun. It helps children build small motor skills, explore science concepts like pouring, floating, and sinking, practice language, take turns with friends, and strengthen large motor skills through running, jumping, and splashing.
Learning through play is always our favorite way to beat the heat! 🌈💦

Today we celebrated a very special birthday at Lilypad! The children enjoyed a fun morning outside with a cool treat, choosing between Bluey and Spider-Man popsicles. 🍧🕷️🐾
After some sunshine and smiles, we headed inside to relax and enjoy a showing of Tangled together. 🎬👑✨
Honestly, there’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than surrounded by laughter, hugs, and the amazing little people who make every day so special. Thank you to all of our Lilypad families for allowing me to be a part of your children's lives—it truly is the greatest gift. ❤️

💦☀️ First Water Day of the Summer! ☀️💦
What a splash-tastic way to kick off summer at Lilypad! Today the children enjoyed not one, not two, but THREE sensory water tables filled with opportunities to explore, pour, scoop, splash, and create. We also cooled off with the sprinkler, which was a huge hit on this warm day!
Water play is more than just fun—it helps children develop fine motor skills, practice problem-solving, explore early science concepts, and build social skills as they play and learn together.
There were lots of smiles, laughter, and happy memories made as we welcomed the summer season. We can't wait for many more Water Wednesdays ahead! 🌞💧🩱

🧪✨ Fizzy Fun with STEAM! ✨🧪
Today we explored science through a hands-on STEAM experiment! The children used eye droppers to strengthen their fine motor skills as they carefully sucked up colorful vinegar and squeezed it onto baking soda. The result? A fizzy, bubbly surprise that had everyone smiling! 🌈💥
Not only was this activity exciting, but it also encouraged scientific exploration, cause-and-effect learning, color observation, and hand-eye coordination. The children loved making predictions and watching the magical reactions happen right before their eyes.
Learning through play is one of our favorite ways to explore the world, and this experiment was a huge hit! 🔬❤️

🌞🛝 Park Day Adventures at Lilypad! 🌱✨
Today we packed up our smiles and headed to the park for a morning full of fun, laughter, and exploration! From climbing and sliding to running, swinging, and making memories with friends, the children had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Outdoor play is so much more than just fun—it helps children build large motor skills, strengthen coordination and balance, practice social skills, develop confidence, and learn about the world around them through hands-on exploration. 🌳💚
Watching our little learners encourage one another, take safe risks, and celebrate their accomplishments is one of our favorite parts of park days!
A little sunshine, a lot of movement, and endless smiles made for a perfect day with our Lilypad friends! ☀️🐸💚
