Sacred Heart Catholic School

Summer is here, and we hope everyone is having a blast! ☀️ With the building mostly empty, we have some exciting renovations going on in the art room. If you haven’t heard, we are so proud to share that our art room is transforming into a space dedicated to creative learning thanks to a generous grant from Shea Homes. 💛

Renovation plans include adding a sink to allow students to create with a wider variety of mediums and to provide more creation time with less cleanup time. Renovations also include storage space for art supplies, flexible seating to accommodate all our grade levels, and an outdoor creation space with a shaded patio, allowing students to create in a natural environment. The arts are vital to teaching the whole child, and we are so grateful for the opportunity this renovation will provide for our students in time for the 2026-2027 school year! 🎨💙

8th grade hosted a Food and Culture Expo! The event is a culmination of their year-long genealogy project. Students research their family tree and their country of origin. The project is the creation of UNC Charlotte professor emeritus Lynn Raymond, who volunteers her time to our 8th graders. This year we had costumes, food, and music from many different countries. 🇲🇽🇵🇷🇮🇪🇳🇮

We are so proud of our SHCS alumni who graduated high school this year! Our alumni put on their caps and gowns to join us for Morning Assembly one more time. 🎓 After morning assembly, we cheered these graduates on as they walked our halls to celebrate all they have accomplished since they left our school. 👏 We hope it is not the last time they see these halls, as we hope to see these dolphins for more community events in the future! Once a dolphin, always a dolphin! 🐬💛

Congratulations to our SHCS alumni who graduated high school this year! 🎓 These graduates gathered in Mrs. Cornelison’s classroom to catch up with each other and open the time capsule they made in 4th grade. They had such a good time reminiscing on their time here at Sacred Heart. 💛💙

Congratulations to our 8th grade graduates! We are so proud of the hard work and perseverance these dolphins have shown throughout their time at Sacred Heart. We are confident that this group of graduates will go on to do wonderful things wherever they are going. 🎓🐬💛

We were so excited to cheer on some of our littlest dolphins as they walked across the stage to graduate Kindergarten! These dolphins have truly shown the power of perseverance and grown so much within the last year! 💙🎓💛
