Hereβs Pattern 4 of the G minor pentatonic scale πΈ
This is another shape that helps you build a better map of the fretboard instead of relying on the same pattern every time.
Once the notes feel comfortable, use it for more than just memorization. Practice playing it slowly, keeping your picking even, repeating each note multiple times, and going up and down without rushing.
That kind of work builds accuracy, timing, and confidence β which matters way more than just knowing the shape.

A lot of guitar problems start with how the guitar is being held.
This small adjustment can fix a lot of issues.
Try this next time you practice and see the difference! π€

π΅The vi - IV - I - V progression is cool because it doesn't instantly start on the I.
It uses simple chords, but it gives you a really useful practice goal: moving between major and minor chords smoothly while staying locked into the rhythm.
Pick one key from the chart and loop it for a few minutes.
Then switch keys and keep the same progression going.
That one exercise can help your chord changes, timing, and fretboard knowledge all at the same time.

Hereβs Pattern 3 of the G minor pentatonic scale πΈ
This pattern is great for getting more comfortable outside the usual starting shape and seeing the scale in a new area of the neck.
Once you have the notes down, donβt just run through it once and move on.
Use it to work on speed, consistency, and control. Try going up and down the pattern, picking each note multiple times, or playing it with a metronome so every note lands right on the beat.
The better you can control one small pattern, the easier it gets to play across the neck without feeling like youβre guessing.

So proud of Myles performing Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica.
He's been playing guitar for years, but this was his first time on stage. Not an easy song to choose, either. π€

How to properly play an open chord G on the guitar πΈ
If your G chord feels awkward or limits your transitions, this might be why.
Playing it the right way now prevents problems later, like muted strings or finger pain from a cramped hand position.
This small tweak now will help you out a lot in the long run.
