Prairie View A&M University College of Agriculture and Human Sciences is hosting its annual Ag Field Day on Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29. The event will be open to the public to provide local communities and counties across the state of Texas with access to the college’s researchers and agriculture specialists to learn, explore, and build networks. Ag Field Day will gather local producers, community members, and K-12 youth to learn how the agriculture industry impacts daily life.

Day one will feature activities geared towards youth, including hands-on experiential learning workshops, while day two will provide producers with timely resources for sustaining their farms and adapting effective business practices.
Activities will be held at various locations across the Prairie View A&M University main campus including the Carden Waller Cooperative Extension Building, Cooperative Agricultural Research Center, Agriculture Business Multipurpose Building, and Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch. Online registration will be open until noon on April 27. Onsite registration will be available during Ag Field Day, though refreshments and individual badges may not be available.

The College of Agriculture and Human Sciences is an 1890 land-grant institution that provides teaching, research, and service through its academic, extension, research, and farm components. The college is a primary advocate for reaching the underserved and underrepresented in Texas, promoting wellness, nutrition, and economic opportunities through its four main pillars.

These upcoming workshops are amazing opportunities for producers to find veterinarians in their areas and begin working relationships with them.
If you already have livestock or plan to raise livestock; finding and establishing a relationship with local veterinarians is essential.
