PCA Team Celebrates Executive Director’s Birthday

PAL Charter Academy and PAL Center staff recently surprised Executive Director Dwaine Radden Sr. with a special birthday lunch and cake in celebration of his upcoming birthday this Saturday.
The surprise was organized by the administrative team, who gathered staff members to recognize Radden’s leadership and dedication to the organization. Radden has served PAL Charter Academy and the PAL Center for more than 20 years, helping to build programs and opportunities that have positively impacted students, families, and the community.
“I love my staff and working for this agency,” said Radden. “My team is incredible, and they never forget my birthday—even when I do. I am truly blessed to have a team that cares about the little things.”
Admin staff members enjoyed lunch together and took time to express their appreciation for Radden’s years of service and commitment to the organization.
Radden also thanked all the staff who stopped by to celebrate with him.
“I am blessed with the staff I have, and I appreciate everyone for acknowledging my birthday and taking time out of their day to share this special moment with me,” he said. “Kudos to my admin team, who always find a way to make my birthday memorable.”
The celebration reflected the strong sense of family and teamwork that exists throughout PAL Charter Academy and the PAL Center, where staff members continue to support and encourage one another both professionally and personally.

San Bernardino Community SDA Church Honors Pastor Dr. Jerald Thompson for a Decade of Faithful Service

The San Bernardino Community Seventh-day Adventist Church paused on Sabbath to celebrate, honor, and bid a heartfelt farewell to Pastor Dr. Jerald Thompson, whose 10 years of faithful leadership have left an indelible mark on both the church and the greater San Bernardino community.
Church members, community leaders, family, friends, and fellow pastors gathered from near and far to pay tribute to a man whose influence extends throughout the Inland Empire. The sanctuary was filled with expressions of gratitude, admiration, and love for a pastor whose commitment to ministry, education, and community service has touched countless lives.
Among those offering tributes were representatives from the San Bernardino Police Department, members of San Bernardino Pastors United, Pastor Josh Beckley of Ecclesia Church, and Reginald Young of Provisional Educational Services, Inc. (PESI) and Loveland Church in Fontana, along with numerous pastors and church leaders who came to honor Pastor Thompson's years of dedicated service.
The celebration featured a stirring trumpet salute fit for a king and several of Pastor Thompson's favorite songs. As tributes poured in throughout the service, he fought back tears while receiving heartfelt words of appreciation from those he has faithfully served over the past decade.
Surrounded by his wife, children, mother, father, and extended family, Pastor Thompson reflected on a ministry built on faith, compassion, and servant leadership. Community members filled the church to celebrate a pastor known not only for his love of God, but also for his unwavering devotion to the people of San Bernardino.
Among those in attendance was PESI Chief Executive Officer Dwaine Radden Sr., who presented Pastor Thompson with a plaque on behalf of the PESI Board of Directors. Pastor Thompson serves on the board and has provided valuable oversight and support for PAL Charter Academy and the PAL Center.
Radden thanked Pastor Thompson for his leadership, friendship, and steadfast commitment to education and community service.
"A man's work speaks to his worth," Radden said. "I love you, brother. Thank you for your friendship, your support, and your tireless work in this community. I won't say goodbye—I will simply say, 'I'll see you after a while.'"
Although Pastor Thompson's chapter at San Bernardino Community SDA Church is coming to a close, his legacy will endure for generations. His dedication to the church, the community, and the students of PAL Charter Academy has left an impact that will continue to inspire long after his departure.
In his closing message, Pastor Thompson delivered a powerful charge to the congregation that resonated throughout the sanctuary:
"I may be gone, but keep the fire lit."
Those simple words captured the spirit of a ministry devoted to empowering others to continue the work of faith, service, and community engagement.
Pastor Dr. Jerald Thompson will be deeply missed, but his influence will never be forgotten. The San Bernardino community thanks him for his years of faithful service, steadfast leadership, and unwavering commitment to making a difference, and wishes him God's richest blessings in all his future endeavors.

PCA Students Inspired by Pastor Bryant Trujillo and The Way Youth Team

PAL Charter Academy students and staff recently experienced an energetic and uplifting pep rally led by Pastor Bryant Trujillo and The Way Youth Team. The event brought excitement, encouragement, and positive messages that kept students fully engaged from beginning to end. The Way Youth Team also performed music and songs that uplifted and energized the entire student body.
Students participated in interactive games, team-building activities, and motivational discussions focused on believing in themselves, staying focused, and making positive choices. Winners of the games received backpacks and T-shirts, reinforcing lessons about teamwork, leadership, and following directions.
Bryant Davis, a CTE teacher at PAL Charter Academy, described the experience as “amazing” and said students remained engaged and focused throughout the pep rally. He shared that the team encouraged students to believe in themselves and reminded them they are never alone because God always has their back.
Executive Director Dwaine Radden Sr. said it was inspiring to see young people leading and encouraging other youth toward a positive path. “Great leadership trickles down and becomes infectious,” Radden said.
The church operates under the leadership of Pastors Marco and Liza Garcia and was founded in 2004. Based in San Bernardino, the ministry has expanded with additional locations in Arizona, Mexico, and Kenya. Radden shared that after meeting Pastor Marco, he saw firsthand his passion and commitment to God’s mission and serving the community.
Pastor Bryant Trujillo is passionate about raising up the next generation for Jesus. With a heart for teenagers and a strong commitment to discipleship, he is dedicated to creating an environment where young people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and discover their identity and purpose in Christ. His mission is to equip and empower youth to boldly impact their schools and communities.
The pep rally left students encouraged, motivated, and inspired to continue striving for success both inside and outside the classroom.
