One of the biggest lessons dance has taught me:

Not every cypher needs to be your greatest performance.

When people start getting good at dancing, something interesting happens.

They become known for being "the dancer."

The one who always kills it.�The one who always has the moves.�The one who always gets reactions.

And without realizing it, they start carrying a lot of pressure.
Pressure to impress.
Pressure to perform.
Pressure to live up to what people expect.

But here's the truth:
Most of that pressure isn't coming from the audience.
It's coming from us.

Because at some point we decided every round needed to be amazing.
Every entrance needed to be memorable.
Every moment needed to prove something.
But who made that rule?

You set the bar.
Not the audience.
Not the people in the cypher.
Not social media.
You.

Years from now, people probably won't remember every move you did.
But they'll remember how they felt dancing with you.
�So if you've been putting pressure on yourself to be "on" all the time...
This is your reminder:
You don't have to perform.
You GET TO participate.
And sometimes that's where the magic happens.

I’m gonna look back at this video in June 2027 and see a totally new version of myself watching this. I’m blessed for what life has gifted me, and even more excited to be 47 and experience a new level of MEL upgrades.

For anyone who recently followed us, I’ve been a college professor teaching hip hop dance for that last 24 years of my life.

Teaching in person gave me the understanding to be able to teach online today to our current students in 12 countries around the world.
